There are several factors that your healthcare provider will consider before recommending an amoxicillin (Amoxil®, Moxatag) dosage for you. He or she will evaluate the severity of your infection, your weight, the type of infection, and the kind of bacteria causing the infection. The antibiotic is typically taken one, two, or three times a day. Your amoxicillin doses should be spread out evenly (every 12 hours for twice-daily dosing and every 8 hours for thrice-daily dosing).
