Cleocin Antibiotic Information
Cleocin® (clindamycin) is available only by prescription and is approved for treating certain bacterial infections. This antibiotic is not appropriate for everyone; your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history and what medicines you are taking before prescribing it.
Although many people do not have any problems while taking this antibiotic, Cleocin can cause side effects, such as diarrhea, skin irritation, and dry skin. If negative reactions do occur, they tend to be mild and easily treated.
Cleocin comes in a variety of forms, including a gel, lotion, solution, capsule, cream, vaginal suppository, and injection. Do not miss doses or stop taking this antibiotic earlier than your healthcare provider recommends, as bacterial resistance may develop.
(Click Cleocin for more information on this antibiotic. This article covers how this prescription medication works, lists additional side effects, and offers some safety precautions to be aware of before beginning treatment.)
