Moxifloxacin Eye Drop Information

Moxifloxacin eye drops (Vigamox®) are approved to treat bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) in people as young as one year old. The antibiotic medication works by interfering with two important enzymes that are necessary for bacteria to multiply. This product is available by prescription only and is typically used three times a day for seven days. It's important to use the eye drops for the full time prescribed, even if your eye infection gets better sooner.

Moxifloxacin eye drops may not be suitable for everyone, so it's a good idea to discuss the drug's safety information with your healthcare provider before starting treatment. Also, be sure to tell your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any allergies. Common side effects seen with this product include dry eyes and vision that is less sharp than usual.
