Augmentin 875 mg Tablets

Augmentin® (amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium) is an antibiotic used for treating various types of infections. It is available by prescription only and comes in the form of tablets, chewable tablets, and a liquid. The tablet form is available in three different strengths, including:
 
  • Augmentin 250 mg tablets (containing 250 mg of amoxicillin and 125 mg of clavulanic acid per tablet)
  • Augmentin 500 mg tablets (containing 500 mg of amoxicillin and 125 mg of clavulanic acid per tablet)
  • Augmentin 875 mg tablets (containing 875 mg of amoxicillin and 125 mg of clavulanic acid per tablet).
     
The recommended dose for the treatment of most infections is one 500 mg tablet every 12 hours or one 250 mg tablet every 8 hours. For more severe infections, one 875 mg Augmentin tablet every 12 hours or one 500 mg tablet every 8 hours may be recommended.
