Chewable Augmentin Tablets

Augmentin® (amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium) is a prescription antibiotic medication used to treat a variety of infections in adults and children. There are currently several different forms of Augmentin: chewable tablets, regular tablets, and an oral suspension (liquid).

Chewable Augmentin tablets are available in the following strengths:

  • Augmentin 125 mg -- lemon-lime flavor
  • Augmentin 200 mg -- cherry-banana flavor
  • Augmentin 250 mg -- lemon-lime flavor
  • Augmentin 400 mg -- cherry-banana flavor.

This medication is typically taken every 8 or 12 hours, depending on the particular product and dosage. The chewable tablet form of Augmentin may be suitable for children or people who have trouble swallowing regular tablets. It is important to finish your prescription, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it too soon could lead to the development of medication-resistant bacteria.
