Storage Information

Cefotaxime comes in vials of the dry medication to be mixed or in premixed containers. Unmixed cefotaxime vials should be stored at room temperature. Premixed cefotaxime containers should be frozen until ready for use. They can be thawed at room temperature or under refrigeration; do not thaw in warm water or in a microwave.

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose of Cefotaxime?

If you miss an appointment to receive a cefotaxime dose, contact your healthcare provider right away. He or she will tell you what to do next. Try not to miss doses, as this increases the chance of developing an infection that is resistant to antibiotic treatment.
