Cefotaxime Side Effects

Clinical studies on cefotaxime showed that reactions at the injection site, allergic reactions, and digestive problems were some of the possible side effects. These studies also showed that this drug can cause serious complications, such as seizures, bloody diarrhea, and a coma. Notify your healthcare provider immediately if you develop anything that just doesn't seem right while using this antibiotic.

Just like any medicine, cefotaxime (Claforan®) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who receives the drug will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.
