Cefoxitin Side Effects

Some of the possible side effects of cefoxitin include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. However, because this is an older medication that has not been extensively studied, it is unknown how common certain reactions to this drug may be. Potentially serious side effects of this drug include allergic reactions and bloody diarrhea -- these should be reported to your healthcare provider immediately.

Just like any medicine, cefoxitin (Mefoxin®) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.
