Ceftazidime Side Effects
The antibiotic ceftazidime is generally a well-tolerated medication, but in some cases, side effects do occur. Some of the most common ones include diarrhea, inflammation at the injection site, and irritation at the injection site. Dangerous reactions are also possible and require immediate medical attention. These side effects include seizures, bloody diarrhea, and hyperactivity.
An Introduction to Side Effects of CeftazidimeJust like any medicine, ceftazidime (Fortaz®, Tazicef®) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the medication will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.
(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible ceftazidime side effects. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list with you.)
