Uses for Cefzil

As part of a group of drugs called cephalosporin antibiotics, Cefzil® (cefprozil) comes as a tablet or an oral suspension (liquid) that is taken once or twice daily to treat certain bacterial infections. Some of the specific uses for Cefzil include the treatment of:
   
Cefzil works by stopping bacteria from making cell walls, which eventually causes the bacteria to die. However, not all bacteria will respond to this medication. It is approved for use in adults and children as young as six months old.
