Bacterial Endocarditis
Endocarditis occurs when the inner lining of the heart (the endocardium) develops inflammation, usually from an infection. Bacterial endocarditis occurs when bacteria are responsible for causing the inflammation. The condition can occur during a number of procedures, such as dental procedures.
Cephalexin may help prevent this infection by curbing the growth of bacteria and reducing inflammation.
Is Cephalexin Used for Children?
Cephalexin is approved for use in infants and children. In these groups, cephalexin is used to treat the same infections seen in adults.
