Doxycycline 50 mg

Doxycycline is a prescription antibiotic used to treat several conditions, such as acne, bacterial infections, gum disease, and rosacea. It comes in several forms and strengths. The drug is available in the form of tablets and capsules (sold under the brand names Doryx®, Monodox®, NutriDox, Vibramycin®, and Vibra-Tabs®), as well as in the form of a syrup (doxycycline 50 mg per 5 mL syrup sold under the brand name Vibramycin®).

50 mg doxycycline tablets are usually taken once or twice a day, depending on your healthcare provider's instructions. They work best when taken without food. However, some doxycycline products can be taken with food if stomach upset occurs.

It is important to take doxycycline with plenty of water (or other fluids) while in an upright position, in order to prevent the medication from irritating the throat. Make sure that you complete your entire prescription of doxycycline, even if you start feeling better. This will ensure that the infection is completely treated.
