Doxycycline Safety Information

Although most people tolerate doxycycline well, this medication is not suitable for everyone. Before starting treatment, make sure you talk to your healthcare provider about any safety information that may apply to you.

For example, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medical conditions you may have. You may not be able to take doxycycline safely if you have certain medical conditions, such as kidney disease, liver disease, or frequent yeast infections.

Doxycycline can also cause potentially dangerous drug interactions with certain medications, so it is important to inform your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking (including non-prescription medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements).

Other information on doxycycline safety applies to people with certain allergies (including allergies to foods, dyes, or preservatives) and to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
