Factive® (gemifloxacin mesylate) is a medicine prescribed to treat certain bacterial infections, including pneumonia and bronchitis. This antibiotic kills bacteria by interfering with the bacteria's ability to multiply. Although most people tolerate it well, it is not suitable for everyone. Prior to taking it, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about your medical history and any other medicines you are taking (including vitamins, nonprescription drugs, and herbal supplements).
