Flagyl 500 mg Tablets
As a type of antibiotic, Flagyl® (metronidazole) is a medication used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections, including those caused by parasites and anaerobic bacteria (certain bacteria that do not require oxygen to survive).
Although several forms and strengths of Flagyl are available, your healthcare provider may prescribe the 500-mg strength Flagyl tablets to treat problems such as amoebic liver abscesses. For anaerobic bacterial infections, your dosage will depend on factors such as your weight.
Some of the other factors that will determine which strength you should take include the condition being treated, the particular Flagyl product you are using, the type of infection, and whether you are taking any other medications.
