Flagyl Risks

Although many people tolerate Flagyl® (metronidazole) well, this medication is not free of problems. Some of the most common risks with Flagyl include:
 
If any problems do occur, they tend to be minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. However, there are some potentially serious Flagyl risks that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience serious problems such as seizures; difficulty breathing; or paralysis in an arm, leg, foot, or hand.
 
Other safety precautions with Flagyl apply to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as people who have certain allergies, including to foods, dyes, or preservatives.
