Problems With Flagyl

As with many other medications, Flagyl® (metronidazole) can sometimes cause negative reactions. Some of the most common problems with Flagyl include side effects, such as:
 
If side effects do occur, they tend to be minor and easy to treat. However, there are some potentially serious Flagyl problems that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience reactions such as:
 
  • Seizures
  • Breathing problems
  • Numbness or paralysis of an arm, leg, foot, or hand.
     
Other warnings and precautions with this medication apply to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as people who have certain allergies. Also, you may not be able to take this antibiotic if you have certain medical conditions, such as alcoholism, epilepsy, or liver disease.
