Keflex® (cephalexin) is typically used to treat and prevent common bacterial infections. It is a prescription antibiotic that comes as a capsule or liquid suspension. Infections that Keflex can treat are respiratory tract infections, sinus infections, and skin infections. The drug can also be used to prevent heart valve infections. Before taking Keflex, tell your healthcare provider if you have certain medical conditions, such as kidney disease or kidney failure, and whether you are allergic to Keflex, penicillin, or other antibiotics.
