Keflex® (
cephalexin) is a prescription drug used for treating a number of bacterial infections. There is a lot of information concerning the safety of Keflex that you should be aware of before starting treatment.
It is important to talk to your healthcare provider before taking this drug if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as it may cause
problems during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. You should also let your healthcare provider know if you have kidney disease or kidney failure before starting treatment with Keflex.
If you have severe kidney disease, your healthcare provider may give you a lower dose than normal or not prescribe this medication at all.
Keflex may not be safe or suitable for everyone. You should not take this medication if you are allergic to:
- Keflex, cephalexin, or Biocef®
- Related medications (such as Omnicef® or Rocephin®)
- Any inactive ingredients used in making Keflex.
