Should You Take Keflex With Food?

Keflex® (cephalexin) is a prescription medicine approved for treating various types of bacterial infections and preventing heart valve infections (bacterial endocarditis). It comes in capsule and liquid form, and is typically taken two to four times a day, depending on your healthcare provider's instructions.

Keflex can be taken with food or on an empty stomach. If the medication upsets your stomach, you should try taking Keflex with some food or milk. It is important to drink a full glass of water with each dose, and make sure to finish your entire prescription, even if you start feeling better. This will ensure that the infection is completely treated.
