Antibiotics Home > Should You Take Avelox With Food?

Avelox® (moxifloxacin) is an antibiotic medication approved for the treatment of various bacterial infections. It comes in tablet and injectable form, and is generally taken once a day. If you are taking it by mouth, should you take Avelox with food?
You can take Avelox either with food or on an empty stomach. However, if the medicine causes stomach upset, you should try taking it with some food. This antibiotic can be taken at any time of the day, as long as it is taken at the same time each day so that there are approximately 24 hours between doses.
