Cefazolin comes in vials of the dry medication to be mixed with an appropriate liquid before use. Unmixed cefazolin vials should be stored at room temperature. Storage recommendations after reconstitution may vary, depending on what type of liquid is used and the particular product used; however, in general, reconstituted cefazolin is good for 24 hours at room temperature and 7 to 10 days under refrigeration.
What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose of Cefazolin?
If you miss an appointment to receive a cefazolin dose, contact your healthcare provider right away. He or she will tell you what to do next. Try not to miss doses, as this increases the chance of developing an infection that is resistant to antibiotic treatment.
