Even though most people do not experience any problems while receiving intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) injections of cefepime (Maxipime®), adverse reactions may occur. Some of the most common side effects of this antibiotic include:
If any problems do occur, they tend to be minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. However, there are some potentially serious reactions with cefepime that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience serious problems such as watery or bloody diarrhea, seizures, or breathing problems.
