Cefuroxime axetil (Ceftin®) is a prescription antibiotic. It is used to treat various infections such as strep throat, ear infections, urinary tract infections, and sinus infections.

Are There Side Effects?
As with any medicine, cefuroxime axetil can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well.
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
Diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting are the most common side effects of cefuroxime axetil.
