For instance, you should not take ciprofloxacin with dairy products alone (such as milk or yogurt) or with calcium-fortified juices (such as orange juice). However, you can take this drug with meals that contain these food items. Calcium can bind to ciprofloxacin in the digestive tract, preventing it from being absorbed into the bloodstream.
You should take your ciprofloxacin dosage at least two hours before or six hours after taking any product that contains calcium.
