Ofloxacin Ophthalmic Drops and Side Effects
Just like many medications, ofloxacin ophthalmic solution (Ocuflox®) can sometimes cause problems. However, because very little of the medication is absorbed into the body, most of the drug's side effects involve the eye. In clinical studies that looked at side effects of the eye drops, ofloxacin ophthalmic solution was most commonly associated with short-term burning or discomfort in the eye.
Other reactions reported in clinical studies included:
- Eye stinging
- Eye itching
- Eye redness
- Inflammation of the eye or surrounding area.
