Your healthcare provider may prescribe 100 mg Vibramycin® (doxycycline) capsules once or twice a day to treat or prevent various bacterial infections. However, your Vibramycin dosage will depend on several factors, such as your weight (for children), the condition being treated, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you are taking.
In general, the recommended dosage for most types of bacterial infections in adults is 100 mg to 200 mg of Vibramycin per day for 7 to 14 days. For chronic (long-term) or more serious infections, longer treatment may be required.
It is important to take the capsules with plenty of water (or other fluids) while in an upright position, in order to prevent the medication from irritating the throat. Do not lie down immediately after taking this medication.
