Who Should Not Take This Drug?

You should not take metronidazole if you:
 
  • Are allergic to metronidazole or any of the inactive components used to make it. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Are in your first trimester of pregnancy (for the treatment of trichomoniasis or bacterial vaginosis; for the oral forms of metronidazole only).
