Oral Contraceptives
If minocycline and oral contraceptives are taken together, minocycline may reduce the effectiveness of the contraceptives. Discuss alternate options with your healthcare provider.
 
Methoxyflurane
If you are taking minocycline and happen to undergo anesthesia for a surgery or another procedure, it is possible that methoxyflurane (a general anesthetic) may be used. When minocycline and methoxyflurane interact, severe kidney damage may occur.
 
Typhoid Vaccine
If you are taking minocycline and receive a live, attenuated typhoid vaccine, the vaccine may lose some if its effectiveness. The result of this interaction could leave you unprotected against typhoid.
