Drug Interactions With Moxifloxacin Eye Drops
A prescription product, moxifloxacin eye drops (Moxeza™, Vigamox®) are approved for the treatment of bacterial "pink eye" (known medically as bacterial conjunctivitis). Significant drug interactions between moxifloxacin eye drops and other medications are unlikely to occur.
As with most eye drops, little of the medication actually reaches the bloodstream and the rest of the body. As a result, moxifloxacin eye drops are unlikely to affect other medications, and other medications are unlikely to affect moxifloxacin eye drops.
However, it is possible that there are currently unknown interactions that may be discovered at a later date. Therefore, be sure to check with your healthcare provider if you are taking moxifloxacin eye drops to see if there are any possible drug interactions that may apply to your particular situation.
