Ofloxacin Otic and Ruptured Eardrum

If you have chronic otitis media (a middle ear infection) and a ruptured eardrum, ofloxacin otic solution (Floxin® Otic) may help treat your infection. This ear medication works to treat bacterial ear infections by interfering with the bacteria's ability to multiply.
The standard dosage for treating a chronic middle ear infection in people 12 years old or older with a ruptured eardrum is 10 drops of ofloxacin otic solution in the infected ear twice daily for 14 days. Even if you feel better after a few days, make sure to finish your complete course so that your infection doesn't return.
