Omnicef 300 mg Capsules

If you have a bacterial infection, you may be prescribed Omnicef® (cefdinir). The recommended Omnicef dosage for most types of bacterial infections is 300 mg, taken twice daily for 5 to 10 days or 600 mg, taken once daily for 10 days. However, your dosage will depend on several factors, such as your age, the condition being treated, whether you have decreased kidney function, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you are taking.

When using 300 mg capsules of Omnicef, make sure that you complete your entire prescription, even if you start feeling better. This will ensure that the infection is completely treated. If the medicine upsets your stomach, taking it with food can help. Make sure to take this medication at the same time each day to maintain an even level of the drug in your system.

If you are unsure about anything related to Omnicef or your Omnicef dosage, talk to your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. Do not stop taking Omnicef without first discussing it with your healthcare provider.
