Suprax 400 Mg

You may receive 400 mg of Suprax® (cefixime) to treat certain bacterial infections, such as bladder infections, strep throat, or ear infections. The specific dose your healthcare provider prescribes will vary, depending on several factors, such as your age, weight, and the type and severity of the infection being treated.
 
Suprax comes as tablets, capsules, chewable tablets, or an oral suspension (liquid). It is available in the following strengths:
 
  • Suprax 400 mg tablets and capsules
  • Suprax 100 mg chewable tablets
  • Suprax 150 mg chewable tablets
  • Suprax 200 mg chewable tablets
  • Suprax 100 mg per 5 mL for oral suspension 
  • Suprax 200 mg per 5 mL for oral suspension
  • Suprax 500 mg per 5 mL for oral suspension.
 
This prescription antibiotic is taken once or twice daily. Side effects may include diarrhea, frequent stools, and nausea.
