An Introduction to Dosing With Teflaro

The dosage of Teflaro® (ceftaroline fosamil) your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on factors such as:

  • The type and severity of the infection being treated
  • How well your kidneys are functioning
  • Other medical conditions you may have.

As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

What Is the Recommended Teflaro Dosage for Treating Infections?

The standard recommended dosage for Teflaro for treating skin/skin structure infections or pneumonia is 600 mg given intravenously (by IV) every 12 hours. For pneumonia, the drug is usually given for five to seven days. For skin and skin structure infections, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections, the drug is usually given for 5 to 14 days.

If your kidneys are not functioning well, your healthcare provider may recommend a lower Teflaro dose.
