Tetracycline is a prescription drug licensed to treat a number of conditions, including bacterial infections, acne, and Helicobacter pylori infections. It is approved for use in adults and children over eight years old, and comes in the form of tablets, capsules, and a liquid suspension. The antibiotic kills bacteria by decreasing its ability to make protein. Before you start using tetracycline, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have kidney disease, or have any allergies.
