Drug Combinations With Vibramycin to Avoid

Carbamazepine
Carbamazepine may decrease the level of Vibramycin in the blood, perhaps making it less effective. Check with your healthcare provider before taking Vibramycin with carbamazepine.
 
Eplerenone
Vibramycin may increase the level of eplerenone in the blood, perhaps increasing the risk of side effects of eplerenone. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Fentanyl
Vibramycin may increase the level of fentanyl in the blood, perhaps increasing the risk of fentanyl side effects. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Maraviroc
Vibramycin may increase the level of maraviroc in the blood, perhaps increasing the risk of side effects of maraviroc. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Oral Typhoid Vaccine
Vibramycin may decrease the effectiveness of the oral typhoid vaccine. If you have taken Vibramycin recently or are currently taking Vibramycin, your oral typhoid vaccine may need to be postponed for at least a day after finishing Vibramycin.
 
Penicillins
Vibramycin can make penicillin antibiotics less effective. Check with your healthcare provider before combining Vibramycin with a penicillin medication.
 
Phenytoin
Phenytoin may decrease the level of Vibramycin in the blood, perhaps making it less effective. Check with your healthcare provider before taking Vibramycin with phenytoin.
 
Quinapril
Quinapril may decrease the absorption of Vibramycin, perhaps making it less effective. Separate your doses of Vibramycin and quinapril by as much time as possible (at least two hours).
