Pediatric and Off-Label Indications for Vibramycin

Can Children Use It?

Vibramycin is not approved for children and definitely should not be used in children under the age of 8 years old. Permanent discoloration and altered development of teeth has been reported in children younger than 8 years old who have used tetracyclines, such as Vibramycin.

Off-Label Uses of Vibramycin

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Vibramycin for treating something other than the conditions listed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. Using Vibramycin to treat infections that are resistant to another antibiotic known as vancomycin may be considered an off-label use.
